Looking back over the original entries in here from 2003, I realize that things have changed significantly since then!
2003: We were in our last year of living on the road in our bus. The kids were 3-12.

Here we are! The whole family, and our nanny, Samara, who traveled with us the last year. |

We finally settled in a rental house in late 2004 in Oklahoma. Exactly one year later, we bought a house and settled in for a nice long stay... we got involved in local community theater, a local homeschool group, made friends and we were all happily busy, working, playing and just enjoying life.
I LOVED our house so much. It was all colorful and pretty:)

These colors blended to straight orange for our entry hallway, and then blended down to yellow for the far kitchen wall. Which backs up to our blue cabinets. The kids each chose and painted a kitchen chair a different color. |
|
Our 'dining room'/aka school room was periwinkle and the living room was Monster's Inc colors, a slightly softened lime green on two walls, Sully Blue on one, and a blend of those two and periwinkle on the other wall. |

My boys room. We hung bunks from the ceiling and then built a huge paper mache tree around them so they had 'treehouse' beds:) They climbed up the ladder within the 'tree' to get to their beds. I loved this room! |
Unfortunately, in late 2008, we found out that we had been scammed by our
mortgage company. We found that although we'd put down a sizeable deposit, and signed all the paperwork, our mortgage guy had been purposefully scamming us and several other homeowners out of their money and eventually, their homes. We fought hard for about 9 months, and then were forced out of our much loved home. It was pretty stressful... but it was a blessing in some ways.
Late 2009 My husband lost his job and was out of work for almost an entire year before starting with the post office in late 2010. We would have lost the house anyway, and our credit would have been destroyed.
Now we're in the process of buying a new home that we are all totally in love with! I'm excited to see what happens next!
And, just to show how our family has grown, here is our most recent family photo!
Coming soon: Pictures and how to art projects for our new house!
